For the second year running, Hydrock has achieved a ranking in the Times Best 100 Companies To Work For List.Since being voted 12th in the Times “Best 100 small companies to work for” survey 2006, Hydrock, now with over 260 employees, has grown into the main category for 2007 and has achieved an amazing 5th place overall, with a special award for ‘Best for Work and Home Balance’.

The highly prestigious 'Times Best 100 Companies to Work For' List is a benchmark for research into employee satisfaction in the UK with over 148,000 participants completing the survey. Questions cover a range of issues from leadership, wellbeing, work/life balance and personal growth to pay and benefits, and companies are assessed on the views of their own staff and independent researchers.
The awards were announced at a ceremony in London's Battersea Events Arena on Thursday 1st March where separate rankings were also given for specific survey categories. Hydrock personnel attending the event were delighted to learn that the company was rated 1st in the Most Recommended Workplace category, 2nd in the 'Working Well Together' category, 2nd in Faith in Leader table, 8th for People Being Helpful, 2nd for being Least Likely to Leave, 4th for employees believing they Contribute to Company Success, and 3rd for having Confidence in Colleagues!
Dr Brian McConnell, Hydrock Managing Director, received the awards on behalf of the company along with co-director Mr Hamish Orr-Ewing. The secret to Hydrock's success? "When we started the company, we wanted to enjoy working but to have time to be with our families. We believed that the things we wanted were what other people want and we set out to run the business with this guiding principle," explains Brian. It seems that they succeeded!
