Our Geotechnical engineering teams are made up of highly qualified and experienced experts who are well known in their fields and are at the leading edge of geotechnics. This rigorous understanding of rock and soil mechanics, combined with a strong engineering geology capability and an understanding of what our client is trying to achieve means that we are able to develop the best possible ground model. Using our expertise and knowledge, we can then interpret the model and link this to geotechnical designs which achieve the best commercial solution for every conceivable scenario.

With this background of expertise, our specialist contracting divisions are adept at recognising problems at an early stage and can flag up any potential design issues or changing conditions and work with the client to resolve them.

Sustainability

Our geotechnical specialists work to ensure that any brownfield development minimises disposal to landfill, maximises re-use of arisings and site-won materials and uses the least intrusive and impacting remediation methodologies. Two of Hydrock's projects were selected by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) as part of their 'Halving Waste to Landfill' initiative as best practice examples for a document entitled 'Resource Efficient Remediation' which outlines how savings can be achieved through remediation and onsite reuse of contaminated material. Hydrock is a member and sponsor of CL:AIRE, an independent organisation that promotes sustainable remediation and worked with CL:AIRE to develop their 'Definition of Waste' Code of Practice.
