Infrastructure

Set up in response to client demand for a comprehensive range of consultancy services which can take a development project from ground investigation through to building handover, Hydrock's Infrastructure and Highways design department has gone from strength to strength.

Every site these days appears to have a drainage or a highways issue. Hydrock's early involvement in development schemes means that the design team can carry out due diligence, identify potential design constraints and offer pre-purchase advice even before a ground investigation has been carried out. This pre-planning work ensures that an infrastructure and highways masterplanning strategy can be defined in good time, thereby helping the planning process and advancing the commencement of work on site.

Working with some of the UK's premier developers and schemes ranging from sports halls and retail stores to housing and major industrial developments, the Hydrock team has provided external works designs including On and Off Site Highways and Infrastructure Design, External Works, Cut and Fill analysis, Section 38, 104, 278 submissions / approvals and SUDS drainage including attenuation. Off site highway schemes range from minor junction alterations to major highway improvement works affecting both the local and strategic / trunk road network.

Sustainability

Our infrastructure and highway engineering design teams ensure that projects are delivered with the highest levels of inherent affordable sustainability, using standards and practices such as BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes, Eco Homes and SUDS. We embed sustainability into our designs and work with architects and all the project design team to create sustainable buildings. Our in-house BREEAM/Code for Sustainable Homes assessors and BREEAM Accredited Professionals can guide you through the process and help you gain valuable points towards a BREEAM accreditation. Hydrock was selected by the Homes and Communities Agency to feature in their document the Code for Sustainable Homes, Case Studies.

"Sarah, Mark and the team are doing an extremely good job in circumstances which have not always been easy. They have our total confidence and I am sure there will be many other projects where they will be able to add value for us."
