Project: Brownfield Site Development, Chinnor, Oxfordshire
Site Description: This 70 Ha brownfield site required a "clean up" process to make it suitable for development purposes. The site contained soil contamination from previous fuel storage, pervasive groundwater contamination and downwards migration in discrete areas.
Services Provided: Principal Remediation Contractor and Consultancy Services Including: Identification of Contamination Sources, Data Collation, Site Investigation Design/H&S, Site Investigation Works, Assessment of Risk to Controlled Waters (including SI & Monitoring), Gas Risk Assessment (including SI & Monitoring), Completion Report (including Stability), Regulatory Liaison
Outcome: With careful design and implementation of a phased project; covering issues of WML surrender, works site demolition and remediation using work teams from across Hydrock's businesses (including two SiLC accredited experts); Hydrock has transformed what was a brownfield liability into a community asset.
