Project: Deadman's Lane, Newbury
Site Description: A former Caravan Park and backfilled gravel pit with extensive contamination issues including methane, PAH, nickel and chromium, designated for the development of 221 residential units.
Services Provided: Peer design review, ground investigation, human health, groundwater and ground gas risk assessments, contamination remediation design, foundation design.
Outcome: A value solution was provided by concentrating on the removal of contamination hotspots and a vibro-stone column design avoided the necessity for piling.
