Project: Ground Nailing, Riversway Nursing Home, Crews Hole, Bristol
Site Description: The Nursing Home is to be extended which required an excavation into a slope formed in old quarry waste to provide more space.
Services Provided: Full "turnkey" package including: Initial assessment of ground conditions, Detailed design, All aspects of construction including excavation and disposal of arisings, installation of ground nails and mesh facings, Acted as Principal Contractor.
Outcome: In order to accommodate the extension, a new slope had to be made by pushing back the toe of the existing slope by up to 7m horizontally thereby forming a new permanent cut slope up to 8m in height. The result is an aesthetically pleasing solution using ground nails with a flexible mesh facing that promotes re-vegetation.
