Alan joined Hydrock in 2021 to lead our growing Building Performance Engineering team in London. He’s a Chartered Electrical Engineer, with over 30 years’ experience managing and delivering multi-disciplinary projects both in the UK and internationally.
His key expertise lies within large complex projects, working closely with clients to understand their business needs and agree project strategies. Alan demonstrates a thorough understanding of a wide range of sectors such as Performing Arts, Healthcare, Aviation, Rail, Listed Buildings, Nuclear, Data Centres and Hospitality, with notable complex heritage projects including The Royal Opera House (Grade I listed) and The London Coliseum (Grade II listed).
Alan has a keen interest in sustainability, including designing to achieve net carbon zero and is a keen advocate of using technology in construction including the use of Building Information Modelling. Alan has been actively promoting the use of prefabrication and modern methods of construction for some years
Alan has a keen interest in commercial and contractual issues to ensure project as procured and administered to ensure the best outcome for Clients, carefully managing risk through the construction process.
He places great emphasis on teamwork, working with carefully selected people who are motivated to find imaginative solutions to unlock complex problems, leading to high levels of client satisfaction.
Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
