Carl has over 16 years’ experience of structural engineering design, delivering projects across many sectors including education, residential, technology and commercial. He is a Chartered Member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. He has assisted in running a course for the Institution of Structural Engineers helping to prepare graduates for their professional examinations.
Since joining Hydrock in 2014, Carl has led the design of technically complex and innovative solutions with projects ranging from the award-winning structural design of the West Midlands Construction University Technical College; the new Prodrive HQ facility; the new English National Ballet Headquarters located in City Island, London; a new residential development at Salisbury Gardens, London and most recently securing our position on the Reallies and Coventry University Frameworks.
Career highlights include working on the outstanding BREEAM Innovation Office in Leeds, Birmingham City Council’s offices at Aston, BMW Mini plant Oxford and a number of large mixed used schemes around Birmingham’s Eastside.
Through his extensive project management, framework and engineering experience, Carl fully understands the importance of open and clear communication with clients and all interested parties. He ensures the needs and wants are met and realised, delivering value in a timely and cost-effective manner. This has enabled him to build strong relationships with developers, local authorities and contractors across the region.
