Chris Banks Principal Acoustic Engineer

Chris joined our national acoustics practice within our Building Performance Engineering business in 2018, bringing over 13 years’ experience across many sectors. 

Based in London, Chris has extensive experience in the planning and development sectors where technical acoustic input is essential. He delivers specialist advice in environmental, M&E, building acoustics and development planning.

Chris has worked extensively within local authority acoustic and environmental departments across London which means he has a strong knowledge of their approach to planning, infrastructure and development proposals.

His career experience also includes the Victoria Circle redevelopment, Crossrail, London City Airport, facilities for Honeywell International and various mixed-use masterplan developments. 

With the release of the ProPG on Planning and Noise for residential developments, Chris advises architects, planners and developers on how to consider noise and vibration issues, and conduct risk assessments, at a much earlier stage in the planning process. 

Chris has a post-graduate diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control Engineering and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Acoustics and an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
