Based in Manchester, Danny is responsible for overseeing the operations and performance of our team in the north west of England.
As a specialist brownfield regeneration practitioner working right across the built environment, Danny has amassed over 20 years’ experience of working in academia, local government and professional consultancy.
He is now responsible for a fast-growing multi-disciplinary engineering design, energy and sustainability team which is now 100-strong across three offices in Hale, Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent.
Throughout his career, Danny has worked on projects across a wide range of sectors and has had leading roles on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects. These include roles as the lead contamination specialist on the Mersey Gateway and Greater Manchester Waste PFI Projects; and acting as land quality technical lead on HS2 London-Birmingham.
At Hydrock, his work includes leading the remedial design for a major remediation scheme for an industrial development in Ellesmere Port; ground investigation work on Manchester Life residential developments; remedial design at the former Itron factory site in Stretford; materials management on the Metrolink Trafford Park Line; site investigations for a major city centre development in York; and the investigations on a 130-acre site owned by Tata Chemicals and Inovyn Enterprises for a major mixed-use scheme in Cheshire.
Because of this broad range of experience, Danny has been able to build strong relationships with developers, local authorities, contractors and regulatory bodies across the region.
Danny is an assessor for the SiLC accreditation scheme; is Chair of the CIWEM Contaminated Land Network Panel; and is a ‘Qualified Person’ and ‘Suitably Qualified Person’ for the implementation of the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice and National Quality Mark Scheme for Land Contamination respectively.
Danny is also a member of the North West Leadership Board for Business in the Community, with Hydrock being a national member of BITC.
