Based in Southampton, Dave leads our Building Performance Engineering team on the south coast.
A mechanical engineer by background, Dave has significant experience of both commercial and higher education projects. In his early career he was part of the Estates Team at Portsmouth City Council and worked on the design of schools, civic offices, libraries, leisure facilities and a data centre. He has latterly been part of Southampton University’s Estates Team, and designed laboratories and research facilities.
Dave is a specialist in fume extraction and local extract ventilation (LEV) and has designed a dynamic wind responsive fume extraction system for one of the new laboratories at Southampton University – one of the first in the UK to have this within a building.
Dave’s career track record also includes the UK’s largest maritime simulation centre at Solent University, the feasibility and design work on a data centre delivering back-up power to Southampton University, and archive storage design for historical items, paintings and tapestry storage.
Experienced at client and design team liaison, Dave leads design brief preparation and specifications, tender analysis and internal design reviews.
