Director, Innovation Delivery

Bristol

MBA, MEng (Oxon), CEng, MIStructE

Mark leads on business improvement and new product development, with a particular focus on the huge potential available to our clients from the energy transformation agenda.

Mark trained as a structural engineer and led one of our most high-performing teams for many years before embarking on an MBA in 2018 at the University of Bath. His research focused on ‘Integrated Management Systems’ and ‘Organisational Improvement’ and further heightened his leadership, critical thinking and analytical skills. He's used this learning to work closely with our group board and technical delivery teams to identify and lead on change management programmes that have shaped our game-changing consulting business and our sustainability services that give our blue-chip clients the edge.

This experience has also shaped his thinking about how we better understand the long-term market challenges faced by our clients and how we can address these needs by developing appropriate products that are scalable, sustainable and digitally-oriented. These products focus on the fast-moving nature of the built environment, notably around the ‘golden thread of information’ relating to fire safety and the Building Safety Bill, the multi-dimensional future of retail, and energy transformation.

Having joined Hydrock in 2004, Mark’s success in structural engineering design included the ongoing development and extension of Bristol Airport across several phases, the delivery of multiple retail showrooms for a leading upmarket automotive brand, and a range of schools.
