Neil Calder Consultant

Neil joined Hydrock in 2018 with experience in both the oil and gas and nuclear sectors. Previously an MEng graduate in Civil Engineering, he directed his focus towards nuclear after studying the European Masters in Nuclear Energy (EMINE) MSc.

Since joining Hydrock, Neil has been involved in a variety of projects focused on radioactive waste management, notably involving transport containers and records keeping. He also holds the role of technical secretariat for the independent verification team supporting the decommissioning of a prominent North Sea oil & gas platform.

From his work in the high-hazard sectors, Neil maintains a strong focus on safety and safety culture and has a rigorous training and presenting ethic. Neil also has a deep interest in Small Modular Reactors and is actively engaged in promoting their potential for future use in sustainable energy systems.
