Rebecca Lydon

Rebecca is an energy and sustainability specialist based in our Birmingham office, with a strong background working in the Midlands and nationwide.

Rebecca is a BREEAM AP (accredited professional) with extensive experience as a BREEAM Assessor and low carbon consultant in the property and construction sector. Rebecca is also an approved assessor for Building with Nature, an initiative that has 12 standards for developers to focus on to deliver high quality green, and blue, infrastructure in developments.

With her knowledge of national and local planning policy and a background in energy technologies and sustainable design, she is able to promote and deliver commercially-viable improvements to strategic masterplan sites and specific building design to deliver the best environmental, social and economic outcomes for clients.

Rebecca advises clients from initial project brief through to the handover of a completed scheme. She has a wide range of sector experience including logistics, education, healthcare, commercial and residential.

Her career track record includes the £18m National College of Highspeed Rail development in Birmingham for Birmingham City Council and HS2, the Help for Heroes funded Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre in Surrey and Access 18, a large industrial park developed by St Modwen in Avonmouth.

At Hydrock, Rebecca is advising on the energy and sustainability strategy on a number of large, strategic masterplan sites, in addition to supporting with studies for ISG for a range of schools under the DfE framework.

A regular commentator on the implications of changes to planning policy, Rebecca is also an active member of the UK Green Building Council. In 2021 she contributed to their Advancing Net Zero research programme, and is supporting their Resilience and Nature programme in 2022. Rebecca is also an active member of Women in Property.
