The Role

Within Hydrock, the Fire Consultant holds responsibility for the delivery of Fire Safety Services at client sites across the UK, including risk assessments, reports and recommendations.

Based from home/one of Hydrock offices, with regular travel and overnight stays, this role will give you the opportunity to work on varied projects.

The successful applicant will have significant experience as a consultant, delivering first class service in both residential and commercial properties, relevant fire qualifications and professional membership with a fire institute. You will be self-motivated, conscientious and an expert in your field looking to join a growing business that wants to support your development. This role (and team) will take ownership of projects after our designers have completed the stage 5 report.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the integrity of Fire Safety Strategies are upheld during the Construction phase of design;
  • Witness commissioning of fire safety systems prior to building occupation;
  • Complete pre and post occupation FRA’s (Type 1 -4);
  • Provide specialist, technical advice and support in line with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005;
  • Provide Fire Warden Training;
  • Produce Fire Safety Management Plans;
  • BS 9997 audits;
  • Produce evacuation plans.
  • CDM Fire Risk Assessments
  • External wall reviews

Requirements

  • Proven and previous experience in the completion of Fire Risk Assessments;
  • Recognisable and professional qualification in fire risk assessments; 
  • Commitment to CPD;
  • Minimum Technician Membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers;
  • Ideally, the candidate will be a member of a recognised 3rd Party Accreditation with the Institution of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors or a similar industry related scheme is desirable;
  • Ability to hold an autonomous role with excellent time management;
  • High levels of literacy and written communication skills;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Plan and organise workloads in order to meet timeframes for service delivery.
