Specialising respectively in infrastructure and civils, and structural engineering, Alastair Clay and Rob Jones are now leading Hydrock’s specialist logistics and distribution business, based in our Hale, Manchester office.
Alastair and Rob are both highly experienced technical directors within Hydrock with extensive experience of the fast-moving logistics and distribution sector. As part of our well-established team based in Hale, Manchester, Alastair and Rob have worked on many major logistics and distribution schemes for a range of high-profile clients throughout the UK.
Speaking about this move and Hydrock’s strategic focus on the logistics sector, Dr Brian McConnell, Hydrock’s CEO, said: “We’ve built a really strong team within our Hale office and I am delighted that Alastair and Rob have this opportunity to lead their respective disciplines within that office.
“We are proud to have a strong national team delivering to specialist developers, contractors and end users in this sector where each project has its own unique challenges. Obtaining planning consent, understanding the ground conditions, establishing appropriate highway connections and infrastructure, and achieving a rapid structural build to ensure a facility is operational and meeting consumer demand, are critical elements of our engineering delivery to this sector.”
Current and recent activity from Hydrock’s specialist logistics and distribution team includes a scheme for Baytree in Bedfordshire that won a leading sustainability award in 2019 and Altitude for Gazeley, a 574,258 sq ft scheme at Magna Park in Milton Keynes.
