Double award win at high-profile Michelmores Property Awards

19th Jun 2017

We are celebrating double success at the prestigious Michelmores Property Awards as two of our major projects have won in the heritage and commercial categories.

The General in Bristol was named Heritage Project of the Year and One Research Way at Plymouth Science Park received the Commercial Property of the Year award at the event, which celebrates outstanding property and construction projects across the south west. Both projects were led by our Bristol and Plymouth structural engineering teams.

The General, which was also shortlisted in the commercial category, is an impressive development for our client City & Country which has seen the transformation of the Grade II listed Bristol General Hospital into luxury residential apartments.

One Research Way at Plymouth Science Park was delivered with BAM Construction and HLM Architects. The new three-storey £6.5m landmark building at the entrance to the park provides high quality facilities for science and technology businesses.

Another project we were on the team for also achieved award success. Seaton Jurassic Visitor Centre, for which we provided detailed M&E design, received the Leisure and Hospitality Project of the Year award.

Speaking about the awards, Jerry King, Hydrock’s national director of structural engineering said: “We are delighted to have been involved in such stand-out projects. We have worked with great project teams and these awards recognise the calibre of work we have been engaged in and the outstanding results we have all achieved.”
