Twelve clients from the property sector, four team captains from Hydrock, a load of spices, and a demonstration from professional chef, trainer and author, Anita Sharma-James. It all added up to Hydrock’s inaugural ‘Curry Cook-Off’ in Birmingham last week.
As part of the growth of Hydrock’s office in the Colmore Business District in Birmingham city centre, our team were delighted to host a ‘Curry Cook-Off’ at the Rajdoot restaurant on George Street, Birmingham with 12 of our major clients.
Under the guidance of Anita Sharma-James, an inspirational Indian cook, speaker, writer and health advocate, clients from the spheres of architecture, project management, construction and planning, alongside four members of the Hydrock team, were treated to a demo on how to prepare a delicious tamarind chicken curry. Split into four teams, our guests took to their work stations to chop, heat and sprinkle and ultimately present their version of tamarind chicken curry.
In ‘MasterChef’ style, dishes were presented for judging and a team led by Hydrock’s Carl Britland, with guests from Corstorphine + Wright, Bouygues and Turner & Townsend were judged the winners. Prizes included Anita’s book A Life of Spice, an Indian cookbook of her mother’s best recipes which also recounts the story of her parents’ journey from India to the UK.
