Rory McHugh

Rory leads our transport planning team based in Bristol, and has extensive knowledge of the public and private sectors.

He has significant experience of managing and delivering a wide range of complex development and transport planning projects across the UK. These range from major residential developments, to mixed-use schemes, large retail proposals and educational facilities.

Having initially worked in the public sector as framework consultant to the Highways Agency, for the most part Rory has worked within the private sector for transport planning consultancies.

He has particular expertise in undertaking transport assessments, and all associated aspects, including junction capacity modelling, traffic flow analysis, highway junction design and improvement works, and travel planning. In addition, Rory is experienced in negotiating the level of S106 contributions and mitigation measures needed to support development proposals, assessing the need in the context of current local and national planning policies.

A chartered member of the CIHT, Rory also has significant transport modelling experience, having prepared complex trip generation, assignment, and capacity models for large and strategic private development projects.
