Based in Leeds, Sam is a sustainable benchmarking specialist within our Smart Energy and Sustainability team.
Sam has deep experience of undertaking BREEAM assessments, Code for Sustainable Homes assessments and energy modelling on a variety of schemes in the UK and internationally. He is licensed as a BREEAM assessor and a Home Quality Mark and Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and is qualified as both a BREEAM Accredited Professional and as a CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessor.
Noted for his innovative and hands-on approach to BREEAM, Sam works with clients and design teams to help navigate the process and achieve the target rating, balancing the twin demands of environmental sustainability with economic viability.
His sector experience includes industrial, offices, retail, hotels, healthcare and mixed-use residential schemes.
Sam’s career highlights include the Co-operative Group’s new headquarters in Manchester, the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Rotherham, Platform – a landmark office building in Leeds and The Word, the National Centre for the Written Word in South Shields.
Sam was part of MRB Consulting Engineers which was acquired by Hydrock in October 2019. He joined MRB in 2011 and regularly speaks at property events on sustainability and legislative matters.
