Ellesmere Port regeneration, Cheshire

Our land quality expertise has been pivotal in producing a viable scheme and securing the planning approval for the regeneration of Ellesmere Port, a 20ha industrial site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Hydrock delivered a range of land quality services to support developer, Peel Land and Property with their proposal for a manufacturing facility on the former Cabot Carbon site, a 20ha industrial site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Our ground investigation and remediation strategy was vital in producing a viable scheme and in securing planning approval for the project from Cheshire West and Chester Council. We worked alongside a professional team which included RPS, UMC Architects, and Turley.

Our remediation design has meant that almost 100% of earth materials may be re-used at the site rather than being taken to landfill, meaning reduced vehicles on the road and resultant nuisance and carbon benefits, all contributing to the sustainability of the scheme.

The proposed development will be built out in two phases, with Phase 1 comprising remediation of the whole site, diversion of a watercourse that crosses the site, and construction of a corrugated board manufacturing plant, processing and distribution facility. The site will be owned and operated by German company, Prowell. The Phase 2 development is as yet unconfirmed.
