Maiden Green, Truro

Extensive transport assessments, including micro-simulation modelling, helped achieve planning consent for this mixed-use development that includes 650 residential units.

Maiden Green, Truro

The Maiden Green mixed-use scheme in Truro includes consent for approximately 650 residential units, a supermarket, primary school and employment space. The scheme will create a significant number of jobs for the local economy, but will also provide a large amount of open space for the community to enjoy.

At Hydrock, our transportation specialists delivered transport assessments including S-Paramics micro-simulation modelling; a comprehensive site wide travel plan; a construction traffic management plan; and road safety audits. In addition we provided detailed infrastructure design services and geotechnical advice which all contributed to the scheme achieving planning consent.

Our work followed a request by Highways England for assurance that increased traffic volumes could be mitigated to an acceptable degree through highways improvements.

Following a traffic monitoring exercise, our proposed scheme was modelled in Paramics using real-time traffic flows. We successfully demonstrated that increased traffic flow generated by the new development could be mitigated by proposed highway improvements.
