Nuclear organisational capability for NuGen

Nuclear organisational capability for NuGen

Having secured an option to purchase land on the West Cumbrian coast from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, NuGen, a UK nuclear company and a joint venture between Toshiba and ENGIE (formerly GDF SUEZ), aimed to develop a new generation nuclear power station of up to 3.6GW capacity on Moorside.

Under a framework agreement, Hydrock's nuclear management specialists supported NuGen and its business partners in developing an effective nuclear organisational capability. This was an important part of the strategic planning process for NuGen as a prospective licensee and environmental permit holder at the Moorside site.

NuGen’s goal was to build three reactors as part of its Moorside project delivering enough low-carbon electricity to power up to six million homes.
