In collaboration with Dexter Moren Associates, our specialist Hydrock MRB team contributed to the successful planning application for a new build, contemporary Travelodge in the East India Dock area of London Docklands, designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
We worked with Marick Real Estate, Mill Lane Estates and Travelodge on the proposal to relocate and expand the existing Travelodge hotel on East India Dock Road to a prominent location on a nearby brownfield site. Planning was secured from Tower Hamlets Council.
The 350-room hotel will provide a tower designed in a tripartite with a distinct base, middle and top. As one of the largest hotels in their estate, this Travelodge Plus includes a substantial number of electric charging points in its car parking provision, superior rooms, secure cycle storage, a pocket park, a green space pedestrian walkway, and a restaurant and bar on the first floor with views across the historic dock and the River Thames.
We delivered the MEP, BREEAM, and energy and sustainability studies to support the planning submission and completed the stage 3 MEP design. In addition, Hydrock’s London-based building performance engineering team was subsequently commissioned to deliver rainwater design and air quality advice for the scheme.
Hydrock MRB has a long-standing track record of working for Travelodge and their development partners on their new sites across the UK.
