Tom Shilton Associate, Building Performance Engineering

Tom leads our Building Performance Engineering team in Camborne, Cornwall. He has delivered projects across a variety of sectors including later living, education, commercial, industrial and leisure, with project budgets ranging from £0.5m to £60m.

Tom is an experienced building services engineer and leads the mechanical and electrical design process from feasibility stage through to completion. He takes a holistic approach to building design to ensure a project performs in terms of Building Regulations Compliance, BREEAM requirements, energy, thermal and daylight performance, and operational cost efficiency. He is a BREEAM 2008 commercial assessor and a CIBSE Low Carbon assessor Level 5.

His later living projects include Chapelwood in Wilmslow and Canford Cliffs in Dorset. Within the education sector notable projects include leading the M&E design services for a new £12.5million secondary school in Cornwall, Helston Community College, and Tom was also part of the project team that delivered the Great Western Academy in Swindon.
