Jack Gorman

Associate, Smart Energy & Sustainability

Bristol

BEng (Hons), NABERS UK Assessor

With a background in building physics and energy modelling, Jack specialises in helping clients to realise buildings that work as intended, meeting their energy, climate, user and commercial goals.

In his role as a net zero, whole life carbon advisor and designer, Jack identifies for clients where to prioritise their spend and time in maximising decarbonisation and retrofitting buildings to improve their energy efficiency.

He works estate-wide across portfolios of buildings for investors, developers and occupiers, and is now an accredited NABERS UK assessor – the industry-leading rating system for the energy efficiency of office space.

His career track record at Hydrock includes the delivery of a refurbishment and fit-out playbook for Wellcome, establishing their roadmap to reach net zero emissions across a specific investment portfolio in London. Jack has also delivered a low-carbon design playbook for Inspired Villages to inform the design of their future pipeline of retirement villages, and created energy efficiency strategies for a range of local authorities to meet their climate declarations and secure SALIX funding.

Jack has also devised a retrofit guide for an historic quarter in Bath city centre, and was a key member in our project design teams working on some of our most-acclaimed projects, notably as the soft landings co-ordinator on both the Faculty of Engineering and Design building at the University of the West of England (UWE) and the UK Hydrographic Office headquarters.
