As an experienced nuclear safety consultant and safety case manager, Paul's nuclear experience has mainly centred around support to the UK Naval nuclear programme and the facilities required to support the submarines throughout their life.

Paul provides safety case support to major infrastructure projects at Devonport and Faslane. This has included acting as a lead Technical Checker for a safety case programme for a UK Naval nuclear licensed facility and as safety case manager for a new facility at Devonport.

Paul has acted as safety case project manager for Hitachi-GE to provide project management support to the UK ADWR GDA project. As part of the Hitachi Generic Design Assessment team, Paul took the programme to the successful issue of the Design Acceptance Certificate and Statement of Design Acceptance. Following the successful completion of the GDA programme. Paul provided safety case delivery office project management support for Horizon on the Wylfa Newydd ABWR site specific pre-construction safety report.

As part of his role, Paul interfaces with technical leads in various client organisations, as well as the regulators, notably the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and the UK Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator (DNSR).

Paul has also helped the team achieve approved supplier status to AWE, Rolls Royce, Nuclear Waste Services, Nuclear Transport Services, Babcock (HMNB Devonport) and on key frameworks run by Sellafield, Dounreay and the wider Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Estate.

Paul was one of the directors of 3T Safety Consultants acquired by Hydrock in 2023. The business now operates as a separate operating entity known as Hydrock 3T.
