Peter Hendry

With deep experience of the real estate sector, Peter is a key member of our sustainability consulting team in Scotland, helping shape pathways to decarbonisation and net zero for clients with property assets.

Peter is a specialist in BREEAM having spent six years as a technical auditor and latterly as certification lead with the highly-regarded Building Research Establishment (BRE). He is qualified as both a BREEAM and NABERS UK assessor.

At the BRE, Peter was responsible for the quality of BREEAM technical audits, and the recruitment, training and expansion of the team. As part of this role, he curated and delivered CPD training to ensure the standard of QA auditors remained high. This role has given him a unique insight into how different types of real estate can be shaped to achieve the highest levels of sustainability under schemes that include NABERS, BREEAM In-Use, BREEAM Communities and Refurbishment and Fit Out.

With this experience, Peter is a core part of our UK-wide sustainable benchmarking team. This team advise clients and design project teams on securing asset-enhancing environmental and sustainable accreditations such as Fitwel, ActiveScore, NABERS UK, WELL, and BREEAM.

In his early career, Peter worked as a researcher for a global provider of real estate analytics. He oversaw a large commercial property portfolio, which included analysing real-time market transactions. He has also acted as project manager for a regional construction company, working on commercial, residential and infrastructure projects across Scotland.

Peter has an MSc in Real Estate, Planning and Regeneration from the University of Glasgow which included full professional accreditation from both the RICS and RTPI. He also has a degree in Economics and Sociology.
