Graduates

Graduates are a key part of Hydrock’s ‘Grow Your Own’ strategy for developing talent for the future. The future success of our business lies with you, so your development is very important to us.

As a graduate engineer or graduate consultant you’ll quickly be delivering real outcomes for our clients. Your technical and professional qualifications will be built on through supervised on-the-job experience.

You will also have a training and development programme tailored to your needs. It starts with our two-day company induction event and will also include opportunities to understand and learn about the importance in business of soft skills, such as communication, empathy and emotional intelligence.

You will always be supported by skilled and experienced people who will facilitate your learning. They will guide you through the challenging parts of your work and prepare you for advancement to more senior roles in the company.

Apprentices

An increasing number of young people are choosing to join our sector as an apprentice. At Hydrock, we get our apprentices involved quickly, contributing to the delivery of important client work. We also support them financially and with practical advice as they pursue BTEC foundation courses, HNC’s and HND’s and similar. All our apprentices also attend our two-day, off-site, company induction event.

Ultimately, for many of our apprentices they move on to a part-time degree course, and again we provide financial support as they study on day release.

Internships

Each year, we encourage young people to take up opportunities for work experience, Year in Industry placements, internships or placements for university students at any point in their studies.

These are limited in number but we have an excellent record of converting placements into permanent hires. Watch Emma’s story.
