We have a fantastic opportunity for a Director - Fire to join our growing Fire Division team in our any of our Nationwideoffices. This could be London, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow or Edinburgh!

The Team – Our Fire Safety Division

Our Fire Safety team has a earned a reputation for delivering technically excellent work and responsiveness, together with a large team winning new work, has resulted in exceptional growth. 

Our Fire Safety Division is represented in all regional capitals within England and Wales as well as Scotland with a large team of colleagues to help win new work. We are in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle…so far.

From concept to construction, our fire engineering expertise helps to optimise design and ensure complex buildings meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations. Our team has extensive experience working on public sector, residential, commercial, industrial and high hazard process construction projects. We deliver a range of engineering services throughout each step of the development process; from site appraisal, through to planning, design and delivery services for all types of projects.

The workload is diverse with many ‘high profile’ regional and national clients. 

The Role:

Reporting to the Fire Engineering Lead Director, you will sit on the senior management team within the division.  In addition, you will also represent the division at the regional board meetings and support colleagues in multidisciplinary work winning. Your focus will be to develop and deliver your business plan, identify new opportunities and ensure the division is aligned with company objectives and ensure the team maintain a healthy work life balance. Other responsibilities include: 

  • Developing our brand and relationships
  • Living and breathing our values and ensuring we are an employer and client partner of choice.
  • Performance including work pipeline, costs and project delivery management.
  • Make a contribution, provide a focus and present Hydrock’s ideas and innovation in all sectors.
  • Support the Divisional Director and Hydrock team to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Drive profitable and sustainable work-winning and assist in maintaining up-to-date forecasting and input where required for Hydrock and the Division.
  • Self-motivated team player, with ability to lead and support efficiency and growth.
  • Leading, recruiting, managing and developing a regional team of fire engineers.
  • Managing the commercial success of the regional cost centre. 
  • Strong communication, analysis and people skills within a multi-discipline working environment.

You’ll be set up for success if: 

We are looking to speak with leaders who have a diverse and expansive knowledge of the UK geo-environmental and geo-technical sector. In addition to your technical capability, you will have proven work winning ability and a desire to develop colleagues and grow your region. Other requirements include:  

  • Relevant degree and ideally a masters in fire engineering.
  • CEng desirable but not essential
  • You will have a flair for business development 
  • Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
  • Integrity and credibility. People want to work with you (customers and colleagues).
