Hydrock to continue its support for British cycling team, JLT Condor, in 2016

22nd Jan 2016

We are proud to announce that, for the second year running, Hydrock will be a Supporting Partner of JLT Condor, the British based UCI Continental cycling team.

With the UK’s most prolific domestic team manager of the past decade, John Herety, at the helm, the JLT Condor cycling team has taken on nine new signings for 2016, with the aim of becoming even more competitive at both domestic and international level.

As one of Britain’s most successful Continental teams, JLT Condor enjoyed top ten performances at the Tour of Yorkshire, Tour of Korea and Tour of Britain in 2015. Ed Clancy, double Olympic and Multiple World Champion, also won the London Nocturne race in London in June 2015 as well as achieving a further two wins at the Revolution Cycling series in Derby in August 2015.

Meanwhile, fellow team member, Felix English, sprinted to victory in July in the Beverley Grand Prix (round 6 of the British Cycling Elite Circuit series). The team looks set to continue this success in 2016, with new hire Chris Lawless having just won the first stage of the New Zealand Cycle Classic. In September 2015, Hydrock joined JLT Condor for a client ride out in the hills of Wilmslow – a great day out that allowed us to show our continuing support for the team.

Commenting on the announcement, Dr Mike Higgins, Board Director at Hydrock said: “Over the course of 2015 we enjoyed following and supporting the JLT Condor team’s fortunes, and several of our clients and staff were warmly welcomed at the start line at many of the races by the team. It’s great to be engaging with one of the leading British cycling teams. There are a number of common themes, most notably the commitment of both ourselves as a business and the JLT Condor team to grow and develop young talent in our respective fields.

“At Hydrock we place a strong emphasis on developing early career professionals, mentoring them alongside highly experienced engineers in specialist fields that can range from sustainable building design to brownfield remediation. We are continuing to support JLT Condor because of their similar focus on developing the very best of British talent in a field that also demands great attention to detail to achieve incremental improvements.”

John Herety, Team Manager at JLT Condor said of Hydrock’s support: “Our team is founded on the principles of seeking to achieve the best possible results while always maintaining and displaying the highest levels of professionalism in all levels of cycling competition. We look for a similar ethos from all our corporate partners and this is evident in Hydrock’s approach to their business and their industry. We are delighted that Hydrock will continue to be a Supporting Partner in 2016.”
