Hydrock shortlisted for two prestigious brownfield awards 2023

17th Jul 2023

We’re thrilled to announce that, alongside our project partners SEGRO and Buckingham Group, we have been shortlisted for not just one, but two coveted Brownfield Awards for our contribution to the development of SEGRO Park Coventry.

The Brownfield Awards, organised by Environment Analyst, are one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry, recognising excellence and innovation in the remediation and regeneration of brownfield land. The winners will be announced on 2 November in Manchester.

Best Sustainable Re-Use of Materials

The first nomination, ‘Best Sustainable Re-Use of Materials’, acknowledges our innovative approach to incorporating sustainable practices into the development. By carefully assessing the site's unique geological characteristics, our geotechnical team successfully identified and implemented strategies that maximised the reuse of materials, significantly minimising waste and reducing the project's environmental footprint and overall cost.

Best Sustainable Brownfield/Urban Regeneration/Infrastructure Scheme

The second nomination, ‘Best Sustainable Brownfield/Urban Regeneration/Infrastructure Scheme’, recognises our teams’ exceptional contribution to transforming the derelict site into a thriving, sustainable hub. The meticulous planning, detailed site investigations and effective remediation strategies have not only rejuvenated the area but also set new benchmarks for brownfield and urban regeneration projects across the country.

Speaking about the team's achievement, our geo-environment director, Simon Cole said:

Being shortlisted for two Brownfield Awards is a testament to our team's expertise, dedication and unwavering commitment to delivering sustainable solutions for our clients. We’re immensely proud of our achievements and our contribution to the success of SEGRO Park Coventry.
