A night of high achievement at the Sunday Times Best Companies awards

22nd Feb 2019

Hydrock celebrated a night of outstanding achievement at the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For awards.

Ranked for a fifth consecutive year in the Best Companies to Work For lists, Hydrock was the highest placed engineering consultancy in the 2019 listings, rising to 39th place. Hydrock also picked up a special ’10 year achievement’ award recognising our consistent placing in the top 100 lists over an extended period of time.

The annual Best Companies ranking is widely acknowledged as the most rigorous and extensive research into employee engagement in the UK. All the scores and ratings that are assessed to compile the lists are based solely on employee opinions.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr Brian McConnell, Hydrock’s CEO, said: “These lists are such an important affirmation of employee engagement. I’m absolutely thrilled with our result last night and the long-term consistency we’ve achieved in being placed in the top 100 over several years.

“It’s encouraging to see our staff value our working environment and enjoy the experiences they get from our business. We take the wellbeing of our staff very seriously, and I am personally leading an initiative, with our HR team, that focuses on the physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing of our people.

“Our commitment to being an outstanding employer goes on. It’s absolutely critical to who we are as a business.”

The citation on Hydrock by Best Companies states that 93% of employees believe that the ‘leader’, Brian McConnell, runs the organisation based on sound moral principles, 90% of employees state that their colleagues go out of their way to help them, and 87% of staff agreed that the experience they gained from their job is valuable for their future.
