21st Feb 2020

Hydrock is celebrating its sixth consecutive year in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For listing.

The annual Best Companies ranking is widely acknowledged as the most rigorous and extensive research into employee engagement in the UK. All the scores and ratings that are assessed to compile the lists are based solely on employee opinions.

Commenting on last night's announcement that Hydrock placed 59th overall, Dr Brian McConnell, Hydrock’s CEO, said: “We’re all immensely proud that this is Hydrock’s sixth year inside the Best Companies top 100.

I strongly believe that work should be a rewarding, enriching part of our lives. We achieve this by putting wellbeing at the heart of our business to benefit our most valuable asset – our people.

Over the last two years we have ramped up our focus on wellbeing, from activities funded by a dedicated budget and organised by our Wellbeing Champions, to the launch of an internal online hub full of resources. It’s fantastic to see those efforts rewarded again.”

The citation on Hydrock by Best Companies states that 91% of employees agree that their team is fun to work with, 89% of employees believe that the ‘leader’, Brian McConnell, runs the organisation based on sound moral principles, and 89% of staff agreed the experience they gain from their job is valuable for their future.

Best Companies founder and CEO, Jonathan Austin, said: “I would like to congratulate Hydrock on achieving a Two Star Accreditation and being named as one of the UK’s Best Companies to Work for.

Best Companies has been acknowledging excellence in the workplace since 2006 when we launched our Michelin style accreditation standard.

We are proud to work with organisations like Hydrock who focus on their people and as such have been rewarded with an engaged workforce who tell us that they’re a best company to work for.”
