Hydrock shortlisted for BCIA Building Project of the Year award

1st Jun 2017

Hydrock has been short-listed for a prestigious British Construction Industry Award (BCIA) for our work on a new build rehoming centre project for animals near Gloucester. The RSPCA Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home is competing in the category of Building Project of the Year (up to £10m).

We are delighted to have achieved this short-listing. These annual awards recognise excellence in project delivery, design, construction and delivering outcomes for society.

Hydrock is competing in excellent company alongside organisations such as Foster + Partners, Derwent London, Sir Robert McAlpine, AKT II and Kier. This is testament to both the project team and their collaborative design work on a project that was funded through donations yet successfully delivered a high finish, practical, modern and sustainable building.

Our partners on this project were Mitchell Eley Gould, Melhuish & Saunders, Seed Landscape Design, Clark Associates and JDP.

The next part of the process is a site visit for the judging panel in July with our project partners and our client, the RSPCA. An awards dinner in London in October will be the setting for the announcement of the winners in each category.

The awards scheme is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and in recognition of this the judges will also announce the winners of a special award at the presentation dinner in October. The Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award will be presented to one of the short-listed projects across the complete range of award categories.
