Hydrock takes home ‘Consultancy of the Year’ at the Bristol Property Awards

29th Nov 2022

We’re extremely proud to have been named ‘Consultancy of the Year’ at the Bristol Property Awards 2022, in a prestigious ceremony last Friday.

Our multi-disciplinary engineering teams in Bristol are at the heart of the property sector in the city, with over 300 of our 850 UK-wide employees are based in and around Bristol — united by our vision to be a force for good.

Some of the projects we’re most proud of include such as the multiple-award-winning, UWE Faculty of Engineering and Design, a sympathetic modernisation of the Royal West of England Academy, and the first building outside London to achieve a rating of BREEAM Outstanding, Aurora, in Finzels Reach.

As an integrated engineering, energy and sustainability consultancy, we have a strong role to play in being change agents in addressing the global challenge of climate change.

A huge moment for us this year was the launch of a first-to-market service, offering electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure consultancy. We’ve developed an innovative new modelling tool (StratEV®) that informs EV charging infrastructure strategy. It’s the only modelling tool of its kind and works by drawing together data regarding usage, power demand and revenue, enabling EV charging developers to provide the most efficient solutions in terms of reducing cost and maximising future utilisation.

We also launched our carbon verification and validation services to help address climate change. With organisations increasingly setting ambitious commitments to reduce global greenhouse-gas emissions, we’re guiding them on the steps they must take to truly verify those claims along their net zero journey. Ultimately our service drives continual improvement of existing business practices meaning lower costs, increased sustainable credentials, and better results.

Ric Hampton, Regional Director — South, added:

“Winning 'Consultancy of the Year' reaffirms our position in the Bristol market. We have an incredibly strong multi-disciplinary team who have made a positive impact in the region, playing an integral role in future communities such as Wapping Wharf and Redcliffe Way. We look forward to building on this well deserved win and continuing to deliver sustainable projects that benefit people and the planet."

Our mark can be seen on projects all across Bristol, including two of this year’s other winners — Linkcity UK's Castle Park View, which won ‘Residential Development of the Year’ and Generator Group of Companies' The Chocolate Factory which picked up the ‘Transformation of the Year’ award.

Huge congratulations go to all the finalists and winners at this year’s Bristol Property Awards.
