Hydrock celebrates topping out at luxury retirement village

29th May 2018

Earlier this month Hydrock joined with its design and construction team partners to celebrate the topping out of phase 2A of the 25-acre retirement village development at Wadswick Green in Wiltshire.

Our client, Octopus Healthcare for Rangeford, is transforming the former MoD Naval College at HMS Royal Arthur Park near Corsham into a luxury, state of the art retirement village.

Cllr Ruth Hopkinson, Chair of Corsham Council, joined members of the project team, including Hydrock’s structural and civil engineer Roger Bareham and representatives from Octopus Healthcare for Rangeford, Rydon, CMS Architects and Jones King Services Engineers to place the final piece of roofing on the building.

Being developed in six phases, when complete, the new village will consist of 247 contemporary apartments including 26 assisted living apartments, with 24-hour care and support available to all residents. The scheme also includes The Pavilion which houses the Greenhouse restaurant and a wellness spa including hairdressing, beauty and a gym.

Providing civil, structural and geotechnical engineering design services, we were appointed to the development back in 2013 by Octopus Healthcare for Rangeford, helping the dedicated retirement village developer secure planning permission.
