Hydrock set to work on stunning landmark development for Plymouth

28th Jul 2014
A stunning development has been revealed for Plymouth’s historic waterfront, and Hydrock has been appointed as civil and structural engineering designers for the exciting project, along with Burke Richards Architects, Ian Jewson Planning, Galliford Try and Cooper Partnership.

The prestigious residential scheme includes a new eleven-storey building of contemporary apartments on Millbay Pier, which is hoped will become an ‘iconic’ landmark and striking gateway into the city. Two smaller land-based apartment blocks will complete the development, one five-storey and one six-storey.

Linden Homes has submitted a full planning application for 142 luxury residential apartments over three blocks on the site.

Hydrock has already provided a flood risk assessment, drainage strategy, structural inspection and ground investigation in support of the planning application and will go on to provide a full civil and structural engineering design service for all three apartment blocks on this challenging seafront site.

This project forms part of a wider regeneration scheme for the Millbay waterfront area, which includes retail and leisure units, offices and public open spaces in addition to various residential developments.
