Barratt London appoint Hydrock for pre-planning works at former Nestlé site

25th May 2016

Hydrock has been appointed by Barratt London to deliver multi-disciplinary engineering services to support the pre-planning work on a former Nestlé site in Hayes, West London.

The Nestlé coffee factory in Hayes closed in 2014 and was acquired by industrial estate developer, SEGRO in January 2015. SEGRO will develop around 230,000 sq ft of industrial and urban logistics warehouse space and they selected Barratt London to develop the residential part of the 30-acre site. Both partners will work with Hillingdon Council to obtain planning consent.

Hydrock is advising Barratt London on the residential development which will comprise approximately 1,000 new homes.

Speaking about our appointment, Jon Bird, Director in Hydrock’s Structural Engineering business said: “We are delighted to provide our technical advice to unlock this scheme on a complex former industrial site. In addition to providing civil and structural engineering advice, we are delivering the geo-environmental site investigation and providing input into the Environmental Statement.”

The site is an important regeneration site and is in a prime location for residents and businesses, located next to the Hayes and Harlington railway station, which will become a Crossrail station in 2019.
