Investment secured for new state-of-the-art Enterprise Centre in Braintree, Essex

8th Jan 2021

Hydrock is part of the multi-disciplinary team that has constructed the business case and developed the construction programme to help Braintree District Council secure the funding for a new business Enterprise Centre on the Council’s Horizon 120 Business and Innovation Park.

We have worked with Stride Treglown and CPC Project Services LLP to shape the business case to secure the £14.7m investment. This work included a successful application for £7m from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, via the Government’s ‘Getting Building Fund’, which was secured in December 2020.

Our civil, structural and mechanical and electrical engineering teams continue to be involved in the detailed design of the new three-storey development which will begin on site early in 2021.

The 2,800 sq m, BREEAM Excellent building will be at the heart of Braintree District Council’s new urban expansion – Horizon 120 Business and Innovation Park. The Enterprise Centre will enable small businesses and start-ups to develop and grow, and will foster collaboration, with additional events space for those living and working in the local area.

Horizon 120 Business and Innovation Park is a 26.3ha site that is creating a sense of both country park and business park to create a healthy working lifestyle for local start-ups and small innovative businesses.

Hydrock’s appointment to this scheme came under the NHS SBS Framework.
