28th Jan 2018
Hydrock has been appointed as the multi-disciplinary engineering consultant to architects, AHR as part of the team to deliver the new 11,000 sq m office development for the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) in Taunton, Somerset.

With the goal of achieving a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, the UKHO’s new office will replace its existing inefficient buildings by redeveloping its site at Admiralty Way in Taunton with a new, modern, collaborative space that reflects and supports its work in the digital age.

Hydrock is providing a full range of multi-disciplinary engineering services starting from RIBA Stage 1, helping AHR to take the scheme through planning. Our services cover structural and civil engineering, M&E and building services, geotechnical advice, transport and highways advice.

Speaking about the appointment, Keith Johnston, Technical Director in Hydrock’s Structural Engineering business, said: “We are delighted to team with AHR on this exciting and substantial office development. It will greatly enhance the working conditions for this important government service, creating a space to maximise their technology infrastructure.”
